Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Food Scientist to join our innovative team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have expertise in food formulation and quality assurance, contributing to our mission of advancing food science and technology. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop new food products and improve existing ones, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct experiments to test new food technologies.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams in product development.
• Perform microbiological and chemical analyses for quality assessment.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food science trends and technologies.
• Train and mentor junior staff on laboratory techniques.
• Prepare presentations on research findings for internal meetings.
• Contribute to the development of new food safety protocols.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or related field
• PhD in Food Science or a related area is highly desired

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in food product development or research

• Food Safety Regulations

Certifications

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
• Food Science and Technology Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
