Urban Planner

Job Description

We are in search of a passionate Urban Planner to contribute to our ongoing projects in East London. The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders to create sustainable urban designs while ensuring compliance with local regulations and community needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead urban design projects from conception to implementation.
• Coordinate with various departments to ensure project timelines are met.
• Facilitate community workshops to promote public participation in planning.
• Research best practices in urban planning and sustainability.
• Draft and review planning policies and guidelines.
• Assess potential impacts of developments on local communities and environments.
• Prepare and manage project budgets and timelines.
• Assist in the development of strategic urban planning initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or related field
• Master's degree in Urban Development preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of relevant experience in urban development

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• GIS Mapping

Soft Skills

• Analytical Thinking
• Public Speaking

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Environmental Planning: Knowledge of sustainable practices in urban development.
• Familiarity with Zoning Laws: Understanding of local zoning laws and regulations.
