Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Rail-Track Laying and Maintenance Equipment Operator to join our dedicated team in Johannesburg. This role involves maintaining railway tracks and related infrastructure, ensuring safety and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of railway infrastructure and report findings.
• Perform maintenance tasks such as rail replacement and alignment.
• Operate heavy machinery safely, including excavators and loaders.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Assist in the implementation of maintenance plans.
• Monitor and control maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize maintenance efficiency.
• Participate in safety meetings and provide suggestions for improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
• Support the Maintenance Supervisor in various tasks as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
• Technical certification in engineering or related field is preferred

Experience

• 2-4 years in railway operations or maintenance
