Job Description

We are seeking a talented Urban Planner to join our innovative team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will work on various urban development projects, focusing on creating sustainable and community-oriented spaces. You'll collaborate with stakeholders, analyze land use policies, and design planning proposals to enhance the urban environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead urban planning projects from concept through implementation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
• Evaluate economic, social, and environmental impacts of proposed developments.
• Create and maintain documentation related to urban planning.
• Review regulatory frameworks and recommend changes when necessary.
• Analyze community and economic trends to inform planning decisions.
• Identify funding opportunities for urban development projects.
• Work with policy makers to shape zoning laws.
• Draft and edit planning documents for clarity and compliance.
• Advocate for the needs of the community in development discussions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related field
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• 3-7 years of experience in urban planning or a similar position
