Chemical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing chemical processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering principles and experience in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and enhance existing chemical processes.
• Design experiments to test new chemical processes and materials.
• Maintain compliance with all environmental and safety regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments for new projects.
• Prepare cost estimates and project timelines.
• Implement waste reduction strategies and sustainability initiatives.
• Engage with suppliers and contractors for equipment procurement.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
• Postgraduate degree is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of industry experience in chemical engineering

Technical Skills

• Chemical Process Optimization
• Data Simulation Tools

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Effective Communication

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Lean Manufacturing Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience with Chemical Manufacturing: Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
