Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Emergency Response Officer to join our team in Cape Town. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for coordinating emergency response efforts, ensuring the safety of the public, and managing emergency situations effectively. The ideal candidate will have a background in public safety or emergency management, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Supervise emergency response teams during drills and real incidents.
• Update emergency response plans as necessary.
• Train new staff on emergency procedures and equipment use.
• Maintain emergency response equipment and supplies.
• Liaise with local hospitals and health services regarding incident responses.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma or degree in Public Safety or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in emergency management or related field

Technical Skills

• Advanced First Aid
• Incident Command Systems

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Interpersonal Skills

Certifications

• National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Certification
• Hazardous Materials Handling Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
