We are seeking a dedicated Employee Relations Specialist to join our team in Cape Town. In this role, you will be pivotal in fostering a positive workplace culture, addressing employee concerns, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of employee relations best practices.

Job Responsibilities
  • Implement employee engagement strategies to foster a positive work environment.
  • Advise on best practices for managing employee relations and conflict resolution.
  • Support line managers with employee performance management processes.
  • Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback on employee experience.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information while ensuring compliance.
  • Review and update company policies to reflect current labor laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel regarding employee relations matters as necessary.
  • Provide coaching to managers on effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Support workforce planning by analyzing employee relations metrics.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR is a plus
  • Conflict Resolution Proficient in resolving workplace conflicts and disputes.
  • Policy Development Experience in developing HR policies and procedures.
  • Labor Law Knowledge Thorough understanding of labor laws and regulations.
  • Interpersonal Skills Exceptional ability to communicate and build relationships with employees.
  • Analytical Skills Strong analytical skills for assessing employee relations issues.
  • Empathy Ability to understand and empathize with employee concerns.
  • Certified Employee Relations Professional (CERP)
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR)
  • English (Fluent)
