We're on the lookout for a Food Scientist to join our team in Port Elizabeth. This role involves research and development, ensuring food safety standards, and collaborating on product innovation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food science principles and a passion for creating high-quality food products.

Responsibilities

• Lead food innovation projects from concept to launch.
• Draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) for new processes.
• Evaluate raw materials for quality and safety.
• Utilize statistical methods to analyze experimental data.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements and efficiencies.
• Mentor junior staff and interns in food science practices.
• Develop training materials for staff development.
• Collaborate with marketing to create product specifications.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field
• Ph.D. in Food Technology is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in food product development
