Behavioral Therapist

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Behavioral Therapist to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral therapy techniques and will work directly with clients to address and improve their behavioral challenges.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group therapy sessions for clients as needed.
• Work closely with parents and guardians to ensure therapeutic goals are met.
• Evaluate client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Engage in continuous professional development and training.
• Educate clients and families on coping strategies and techniques.
• Advocate for clients’ needs within the healthcare system.
• Contribute to team meetings and service development discussions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Social Work
• Master's degree in Counseling or Psychology is preferred

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in a healthcare or therapy setting

Technical Skills

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Family Therapy

Soft Skills

• Time Management
• Crisis Management

Certifications

• Certified Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
• Certified Play Therapist (CPT)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience working in schools or community settings: Knowledge of educational and community-based interventions.
• Advanced training in trauma-informed care: Specialized training to support trauma-affected individuals.
