Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team in Pretoria. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of corporate law, compliance, and regulatory affairs while being responsible for managing legal risks and ensuring legal compliance within the organization. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to our legal strategy and operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the legal aspects of corporate transactions and mergers.
• Act as a key point of contact for all legal matters involving the organization.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure that strategies align with legal regulations.
• Prepare legal documentation and of submissions to regulatory bodies.
• Support the organization in protecting its intellectual property rights.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Requirements

Education

• LLB or equivalent law degree
• LLM is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a legal role, preferably in corporate law or compliance

Technical Skills

• Contract negotiation
• Regulatory compliance

Soft Skills

• Analytical thinking
• Effective communication

Certifications

• Admission to the Bar

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Familiarity with technology law: Understanding of legal issues related to the technology sector.
