Job Description

Join our team as a Legal Advisor in Cape Town, where you will provide expert legal guidance on a range of issues including corporate governance and compliance matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal practice and a passion for providing excellent client service.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary.
• Oversee regulatory filings and submissions.
• Create legal awareness through training and workshops.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on legal matters.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions.
• Support the development of legal strategies and objectives.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB)
• Master's degree in Business Law or similar is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years in a legal advisory role or relevant experience in corporate law

Technical Skills

• Intellectual Property Law

• Interpersonal Skills
• Time Management

Certifications

• Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP)
• Diploma in Corporate Law

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Data Protection Law: Knowledge of data protection regulations such as POPIA and GDPR.
• Experience with Corporate Mergers: Knowledge of the legal processes involved in corporate mergers and acquisitions.
