Job Description

We are on the lookout for experienced Coal Diggers to join our mining team in Johannesburg. Successful candidates will be responsible for the safe extraction of coal deposits while adhering to strict safety protocols in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with other miners to complete excavation tasks efficiently.
• Utilize mining software for operational controls where applicable.
• Implement eco-friendly practices in coal extraction processes.
• Check and report on coal seam dimensions and characteristics.
• Assist in developing strategies for reducing environmental impact.
• Engage in ongoing development regarding mining regulations and compliance.
• Ensure heavy machinery is operated in a safe and efficient manner.
• Monitor the work environment for potential safety hazards.
• Maintain effective communication with supervisors and team members.
• Actively participate in problem-solving discussions related to work issues.

Requirements

Education

• Higher qualification in Mining Engineering or a related field is advantageous

Experience

• Minimum of 7 years experience in coal mining, with supervisory experience preferred.
