Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Character Animator to join our creative team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging animations that bring characters to life across various media projects. Your role will involve collaborating with directors and artists to interpret scripts and create high-quality animation sequences.

Responsibilities

• Bring engaging character animations from concept to finished product.
• Utilize your artistic skills to create dynamic movement and expression in animations.
• Collaborate with fellow animators to enhance character performances.
• Implement feedback efficiently and creatively for continuous improvement.
• Research and integrate new animation techniques to keep our content fresh.
• Participate in character design discussions to align animation with character objectives.
• Work under deadlines to deliver projects promptly while maintaining high quality.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Animation or Multimedia
• Postgraduate qualification in Animation preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of working experience in character animation

• Maya
• Unity

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of character design principles: Understanding of character design to improve animation quality.
• Experience with 2D animation software: Familiarity with software like Adobe Animate and Toon Boom Harmony.
