Job Description

As a Veterans Adviser, you will provide invaluable support to military veterans in South Africa. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterans in understanding and accessing a range of benefits, programs, and resources. This role is vital in helping veterans navigate their entitlements and ensuring they receive proper guidance tailored to their individual needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterans in understanding their rights and available benefits.
  • Provide counseling and support for career development and education options.
  • Evaluate the needs of veterans and tailor support accordingly.
  • Engage with various government and non-profit organizations to enhance veterans' access to services.
  • Conduct workshops and informational sessions on available programs for veterans.
  • Document and track veterans' progress in accessing services and outcomes.
  • Foster relationships with community partners to create a robust support network for veterans.
  • Respond to inquiries from veterans and their families regarding available resources.
  • Update knowledge on local and national veterans' initiatives and policies.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
  • Master's degree is advantageous
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in social work, counseling, or a similar field, preferably with veterans or related populations.
