Construction Manager

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Construction Manager to lead our project team and ensure the successful execution of construction projects in Durban. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing construction sites, coordinating resources, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and implementation of construction projects.
• Ensure all construction processes are executed as per project specifications.
• Monitor all aspects of compliance and safety.
• Assist in developing and refreshing project documentation.
• Evaluate performance of subcontractors and construction teams.
• Coordinate training and development for site staff.
• Report project progress to senior management.
• Facilitate conflict resolution and communication among project teams.
• Track and manage project budgets and timelines.
• Enforce safety protocols and conduct safety audits.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management
• Additional certifications in project management are advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years managing large-scale construction projects

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Budget Management

Soft Skills

• Negotiation
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Lean Six Sigma Certification
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience with commercial construction projects: Prior experience in managing commercial sites is beneficial.
• Proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget: Experience in delivering projects successfully while handling unforeseen challenges.
