Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Urban Planner to contribute to our projects in Durban, with a focus on creating livable, sustainable urban environments through effective planning and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough research on urban trends and community needs.
• Create sustainable urban development strategies that enhance livability.
• Prepare and submit planning applications and relevant documentation.
• Engage with community members, local businesses, and public agencies to gather input on planning projects.
• Review and assess project proposals for compliance with city regulations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
• Participate in public hearings and represent the firm at community meetings.
• Conduct impact assessments to anticipate the implications of urban developments.
• Collaborate with architects and landscape designers to create integrated plans.
• Draft policy recommendations to influence urban development practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or related field
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in urban planning or a related field
