Clinical Pharmacist

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate Clinical Pharmacist to join our Durban pharmacy. You will assess patient medication therapies, manage drug interactions, and lead initiatives to improve safe and effective medication use.

Responsibilities

• Assess medication therapy outcomes and recommend adjustments as necessary.
• Engage with patients to encourage adherence to their prescribed treatment plans.
• Contribute to the pharmacy’s quality assurance programs.
• Maintain inventory of medications and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Assist in monitoring the pharmacy's budget and medication costs.
• Support staff in resolving patient inquiries and medication dispensing.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
• Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy desired

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in clinical pharmacy practice

• Medication Management
• Clinical Guidelines Application

• Analytical Skills
• Interpersonal Skills

Certifications

• Pharmacotherapy Certification
• Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in a managerial role: Previous experience managing pharmacy operations or staff is a plus.
• Certification in immunization: Certification to administer immunizations is highly advantageous.
