Job Description

As an Underwriter at Leading Insurance Company in Johannesburg, you will analyze insurance requests, assess risks, and work collaboratively with clients to deliver tailored coverage solutions. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Review insurance applications and assess potential risks.
• Determine appropriate coverage limits and pricing.
• Collaborate with brokers and clients to discuss underwriting decisions.
• Utilize analytical tools to support decision-making.
• Monitor and assess ongoing risks and policyholder performance.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations and industry standards.
• Provide training and guidance to junior staff.
• Compile and analyze data to help evaluate trends.
• Participate in claim reviews and provide insights to management.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external auditing processes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
• Postgraduate qualification in Risk Management is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of underwriting experience in the insurance sector
