Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Urban Planner to help shape the urban fabric of Pretoria. Your role will be integral in developing comprehensive land-use plans and policies that enhance community development. Responsibilities

• Lead urban design sessions to enhance community engagement.
• Assess impacts of proposed developments on local infrastructure.
• Advise public officials and stakeholders on urban planning issues.
• Create visual presentations to convey planning ideas.
• Develop neighborhood plans that reflect community needs.
• Maintain relationships with government agencies and stakeholders.
• Research best practices in urban planning and design.
• Provide technical support for planning initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or related field
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in urban planning or community development

Technical Skills

• Project Management Software
• Sustainability Practices

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Critical Thinking

Certifications

• Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience with Community Engagement: Background in facilitating community engagement processes.
• Proficiency in Statistical Software: Experience in using statistics for urban planning analysis.
