Job Description

Join our team as a Chef in Durban, where you will create mouth-watering dishes and take part in menu planning. We are looking for someone with a passion for cooking, a flair for presentation, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals with creativity and presentation in mind.
  • Lead the kitchen team in daily operations and training.
  • Maintain accurate food safety records and procedures.
  • Assist in managing kitchen budgets and labour costs.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment in the kitchen.
  • Develop and test new menu items based on seasonal availability.
  • Communicate effectively with management and other departments.
  • Promote a positive and productive work environment.
  • Stay current with food trends and culinary techniques.
  • Assist with recruitment and training of new kitchen staff.

Requirements

Education
  • Culinary Arts Qualification
  • Hospitality Management qualification is preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a chef role
