Trestleman

Job Description

As a Trestleman, you will be at the forefront of our infrastructure projects, responsible for the construction, inspection, and maintenance of trestles and bridges. Your skills will help maintain our commitment to safety and quality in every project we undertake.

Responsibilities

• Construct and maintain trestles and bridges.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings.
• Measure and cut materials as required.
• Inspect structures for potential hazards.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects.
• Document maintenance activities accurately.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Identify and address maintenance needs promptly.
• Assist in training new team members.
• Participate in safety training and workshops.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in construction and maintenance

Technical Skills

• Hand Tools Proficiency
• Power Tools Proficiency
• Technical Drawing Interpretation

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Valid driver's license

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of South African building codes and regulations: Familiarity with the applicable laws for construction in South Africa.
• Experience operating heavy machinery: Experience with cranes or forklifts is a plus.
