Legal Advisor

Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Legal Advisor to join our team in Pretoria. You will provide strategic legal counsel on a range of issues, including corporate governance, compliance, and contracts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of South African law and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely legal counsel on queries from clients and staff.
• Draft motions and pleadings for litigation processes.
• Maintain organized records of legal documents and correspondence.
• Participate in committee meetings to provide legal insights.
• Assist in the development of business strategies with legal implications in mind.
• Identify trends and risks that could affect the business and clients.
• Promote awareness of compliance and ethical standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent
• Master's qualification or additional certifications are advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in legal advisory roles or corporate law

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Mergers and Acquisitions: Experience in guiding clients through complex M&A transactions is advantageous.
