Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Patent Attorney to join our dynamic legal team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will have expertise in intellectual property law and experience in handling patent applications, oppositions, and litigation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret patent laws and regulations to advise clients.
• Develop and deliver legal training related to patents for clients and internal staff.
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys and paralegals to manage caseloads effectively.
• Assist clients in negotiating licensing agreements to maximize patent value.
• Prepare and present cases in court, if required, representing clients’ interests.
• Participate in networking opportunities and industry events to enhance visibility.

Requirements

Education

• Juris Doctor or equivalent
• Master's degree in Intellectual Property Law is an advantage

Experience

• 4+ years of practical experience in patent prosecutions.
