Job Description

We are on the lookout for a dedicated Tax Consultant to join our dynamic Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of taxation laws and regulations in South Africa and have experience in handling client accounts. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, providing tax planning strategies, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and process tax filings for clients.
• Communicate effectively with tax authorities.
• Assist in creating process improvement strategies.
• Identify opportunities for business growth through tax efficiency.
• Train junior staff on proper tax practices.
• Evaluate client tax liabilities and benefits.
• Participate in professional development seminars and workshops.
• Utilize software tools for accounting and tax preparation.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Taxation or related field
• Honours degree in Taxation is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years in a tax advisory role

Technical Skills

• Tax Strategy Development
• Reporting and Analysis

Soft Skills

• Client Relations
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Registered Tax Practitioner (RTP)
• ACCA qualification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with international tax laws: Understanding of global tax laws and implications.
• Previous experience in a consultancy role: Experience working in tax consultancy or advisory positions.
