We are seeking a committed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our dynamic healthcare team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional pre-hospital care, respond to emergencies, and support our community’s health needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency medical services in compliance with protocols.
• Evaluate the scene of incidents and ensure safety.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
• Use medical equipment and supplies properly to stabilize patients.
• Participate in continuing education to keep skills up to date.
• Assist in public health initiatives and community education.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to quality assurance and improvement activities.
• Provide basic and advanced life support as necessary.
• Document patient care accurately for legal and medical records.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• EMT certification from an accredited program

Experience

• 1+ years of experience as an EMT or in a related field

Technical Skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Patient Assessment

Soft Skills

• Communication skills
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Emergency Medical Technician Certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - preferred

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with advanced life support systems: Familiarity with advanced equipment and techniques for patient stabilization.
• Knowledge of trauma management: Experience in handling trauma cases effectively in emergency situations.
