Job Description

We are seeking an Urban Planner to join our vibrant team in Durban. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for sustainable urban development and have the necessary expertise to effectively plan, design, and implement urban projects. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders and local authorities to enhance the urban landscape, ensuring that our communities are resilient, inclusive, and forward-thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and review urban development plans and policy recommendations.
  • Facilitate public consultations to address community concerns.
  • Assess the feasibility of proposed developments and their impacts on the urban environment.
  • Work on-site to oversee implementation of urban planning projects.
  • Provide expert advice on zoning issues and planning regulations.
  • Attend relevant meetings and conferences to represent the planning department.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies, Architecture, or related field
  • Master's degree in Urban Planning is a plus
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in community planning or urban design
