Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Investment Banker to join our Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial markets. You will work closely with clients to develop tailored financial solutions and manage their investment needs effectively.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze insurance applications for accuracy and completeness.
• Make recommendations regarding premium pricing based on risk assessment.
• Implement best practices in underwriting to mitigate risk effectively.
• Coordinate with claims departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Monitor industry trends to stay informed on underwriting standards.
• Provide mentorship to junior underwriters and interns.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, or related field
• Master’s degree in Insurance or Risk Management is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting or risk management

Technical Skills

• Underwriting Software
• Portfolio Management

Soft Skills

• Negotiation Skills
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management (FIRM)
• Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)

Languages

• English: Fluent
