Job Description

As a Legal Counsel in Cape Town, you will oversee legal matters affecting the organisation while providing strategic guidance. Join our proactive legal team to ensure compliance and help navigate the complexities of legal frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Advise senior management on legal risks and compliance issues.
• Lead internal investigations related to compliance breaches.
• Collaborate with external legal advisors when necessary.
• Draft and implement policies in line with regulatory changes.
• Monitor and report on legal compliance status across departments.
• Act as a liaison between the organization and regulatory bodies.
• Assist in developing strategies for litigation management.
• Promote a culture of legal and ethical compliance within the organization.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of legal trends.

Requirements

Education

• LLB or equivalent legal qualification
• Specialisation in Corporate or Commercial Law is advantageous

Experience

• 7+ years of relevant experience in legal advisory roles

• Admitted Attorney in South Africa
