Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

Join our team as a Pharmacy Technician based in Johannesburg. In this role, you will be integral to the medication management process, assisting pharmacists in providing quality service to patients. A detail-oriented and organized approach will be essential as you handle prescriptions, patient consultations, and medication dispensing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Manage daily pharmacy operations and assist with patient consultations.
• Organize and maintain pharmacy inventory and supplies.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members for patient care.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Provide information to patients regarding medications and health products.
• Assist in the implementation of pharmacy initiatives and services.
• Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
• Train junior staff and interns on pharmacy procedures.
• Stay updated on new medications and pharmacy technologies.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification
• Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting
