Responsibilities

• Examine pets and determine necessary treatments or diagnostics.
• Perform routine surgical and dental procedures.
• Prescribe medications and advise on preventive healthcare.
• Work closely with veterinary technicians and staff.
• Educate clients on animal health and wellness.
• Participate in on-call duty as required.
• Attend continuing education seminars to stay updated on veterinary practices.
• Assist in training veterinary students or interns.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Veterinary Medicine
• Registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC)

Experience

• 2+ years of clinical experience in veterinary medicine

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience in Emergency Veterinary Medicine: Knowledge and experience in handling emergency situations effectively.
• Specialization in a particular area of veterinary medicine: Preferably with qualifications in dermatology or surgery.
