Job Description

As an Insurance Underwriter in our Durban branch, you will play a pivotal role in assessing and managing risk for various insurance applications. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will guide your evaluations, ensuring we provide our clients with optimal coverage. This position will involve collaboration with sales and customer service teams to enhance client relationships and ensure satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Analyze application data to determine risk factors.
• Set policy limits and exclusions based on detailed assessments.
• Work closely with agents to facilitate efficient processing of applications.
• Prepare risk assessment reports for management review.
• Monitor claims data to refine underwriting processes.
• Provide mentorship to junior underwriters and support their development.
• Contribute to policy and process improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field
• Postgraduate qualifications in financial services are a plus

Experience

• 4-6 years of insurance underwriting experience preferred
