Mental Health Counselor

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Counselor to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing therapy and support to clients dealing with mental health issues. This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of psychological principles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake interviews and mental health evaluations.
• Design and implement therapy programs tailored to individual client needs.
• Evaluate and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on client feedback.
• Keep abreast of developments in mental health best practices.
• Advocate for clients’ mental health needs within the healthcare system.
• Facilitate workshops and support groups on mental wellness topics.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of relevant experience preferred

• Mental Health First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational
