Public Health Officer

Job Description

As a Public Health Officer, you will play a critical role in addressing public health issues in the Durban area. You'll be responsible for developing health programs, conducting community outreach, and analyzing health data to inform strategies for improving population health.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement public health programs focusing on disease prevention and health promotion.
• Conduct health assessments and analyze health data to identify community health needs.
• Collaborate with local agencies and organizations to enhance community health resources.
• Participate in health education workshops and create informative materials for community outreach.
• Respond to public health emergencies and provide guidance to individuals and groups.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health programs and recommend improvements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in public health or community health

• Public Health Knowledge

Certifications

• Certified in Public Health (CPH)

Languages
