Responsibilities

• Inspect residential and commercial buildings for adherence to safety and construction regulations.
• Document findings and prepare clear, concise reports.
• Engage with stakeholders to discuss findings and recommendations.
• Assess the quality of materials and workmanship at various stages of construction.
• Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure compliance with recommendations.
• Mentor junior inspectors and provide guidance regarding best practices.
• Organize and participate in community outreach related to building safety.
• Review plans and specifications prior to construction to identify potential issues.
• Participate in safety audits and compliance reviews.

Requirements

Education

• BTech Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Post-graduate qualifications in Building Inspection is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the construction industry

Certifications

• SANS Accredited Building Inspector
• First Aid Certification
