Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Urban Planner to join our Durban team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainable urban development, a knack for innovative design, and strong analytical skills to address complex urban challenges. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including government officials, community members, and developers, to create visionary urban plans that enhance livability in our cities.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize GIS software to create and analyze urban planning maps.
  • Draft zoning and land-use policies for approval by local authorities.
  • Work on urban revitalization projects to enhance community spaces.
  • Advise on infrastructure improvements to support urban development.
  • Participate in collaborative workshops with stakeholders.
  • Keep up-to-date with urban planning trends and best practices.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field
  • Master's degree in Urban Planning or Public Policy is preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in urban/environmental planning
