Responsibilities

• Offer legal insights to support business strategies.
• Review and update company policies to ensure compliance.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies as necessary.
• Conduct training sessions for staff on legal issues.
• Assist in the preparation of legal documentation for business transactions.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations.
• Support the legal department in various projects.
• Monitor trends in legal practice that may affect the business.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB)
• Postgraduate qualification in a specialized area of law is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant legal experience

Technical Skills

• Regulatory compliance

Soft Skills

• Negotiation skills

Certifications

• Certified Compliance Specialist
• Project Management Certification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in another official language: Ability to communicate legally in Afrikaans or another South African language.
• Experience with legal technology tools: Familiarity with tools that enhance legal research and documentation.
