Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Lawyer to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice on corporate governance, compliance, and transactional matters. You will work closely with clients to ensure their legal needs are met and will represent them in negotiations and court proceedings as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients to understand their corporate needs and provide tailored legal solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain legal documentation and compliance records.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies and ensure client compliance with local laws.
  • Participate in negotiations and meetings with stakeholders.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and assess their impact on clients.
  • Manage client relationships and expectations effectively.
  • Draft corporate policies and procedures in line with legal requirements.
  • Provide guidance on best legal practices within corporate governance.
  • Assist in dispute resolution processes and litigation management.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB)
  • Postgraduate qualification in Corporate Law is an advantage

  • 3-5 years of experience in corporate law or related fields
