Job Description

We are seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our Port Elizabeth team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and analyzing structures, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. You will collaborate closely with architects and construction teams to develop innovative solutions that meet our clients' needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design process from concept to completion.
  • Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and expectations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on large-scale projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in structural engineering.
  • Contribute to business development efforts and client presentations.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering is an advantage
Experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in structural engineering
Technical Skills
  • STAAD.Pro
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Soft Skills
  • Time management
  • Adaptability
Certifications
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) - preferred
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Familiarity with GIS software: Experience with Geographic Information Systems for infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience with international projects: Exposure to cross-border structural engineering challenges.
