Responsibilities

• Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems.
• Recommend, design, and implement treatment and care plans.
• Educate clients on animal care, prevention, and treatment options.
• Oversee laboratory tests and analyze results.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment for both staff and animals.
• Work on-call during emergencies as required.
• Contribute to a positive team culture and support clinic goals.
• Manage medical supplies and inventory efficiently.
• Promote a respectful and caring atmosphere for clients and their pets.
• Participate in external veterinary partnerships and collaborations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science
• Postgraduate qualifications in a veterinary specialty is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in veterinary clinic settings

• Anesthesia Management

• Crisis Management

Certifications

• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)
• Advanced Veterinary Dentistry Certification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Intermediate

• Certification in veterinary acupuncture: Qualifications in alternative therapies like acupuncture for pain management.
• Experience in shelter medicine: Background in caring for animals in shelter environments.
