Public Health Specialist

Job Description

As a Public Health Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of addressing health disparities in Cape Town. You'll lead initiatives that focus on prevention, education, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles, while fostering partnerships to improve health outcomes in the community.

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate community-based health interventions.
• Coordinate with public health officials to respond to health emergencies.
• Provide technical assistance and support to local health departments.
• Stay informed about public health laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines.
• Foster a culture of health and wellness within the organization and the community.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or equivalent
• Master's degree in a public health-related field is highly desirable

Experience

• 4-6 years of experience in public health initiatives and community engagement

• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Certified in Public Health (CPH)
• Health Education Specialist (CHES) is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent
