Legal Counsel

Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our Durban office. The ideal candidate will provide legal advice on a diverse range of matters, assist in negotiations and support compliance across our operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for legal inquiries.
• Review company policies and procedures for compliance.
• Participate in the development of corporate policies and legal strategies.
• Conduct due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.
• Advise on employment law matters and employee relations.
• Assist in managing and resolving disputes effectively.
• Cultivate relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

Education

• LLB or equivalent law degree
• Additional qualifications in corporate law or compliance are a plus.

Experience

• 7+ years of experience in legal practice, preferably in corporate law

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Certification in Compliance and Risk Management: Certified professional in compliance and risk management.
