ICU Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated ICU Nurse to join our passionate team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be experienced in intensive care settings, equipped to provide high-quality patient care, and able to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients in intensive care settings.
• Manage patient care plans and tailor treatments based on individual needs.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans.
• Document patient interactions and updates in compliance with legal standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team conferences regarding patient care.
• Assist with complex procedures under the supervision of senior staff.
• Evaluate patient responses to treatments and adjust plans as needed.
• Contribute to the establishment of best practices in patient care.
• Maintain professional integrity and uphold ethical standards.
• Involve in community health initiatives to promote wellness.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Master's degree in Nursing is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in an ICU setting

• Critical Care Management
• Ventilator Management
• Patient Assessment

Certifications

• Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in critical care transport: Experience in transporting critically ill patients safely.
• Familiarity with palliative care: Knowledge of palliative care procedures and practices.
