Computer Numerically Controlled Tool Programmer

Job Description

We are currently hiring a CNC Machine Programmer who will be responsible for programming, calibrating, and troubleshooting CNC machines. A strong understanding of technical drawings and blueprints is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Programmatically set up CNC machines for production runs based on engineering specifications.
• Perform machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues that arise during operation.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of machining processes and production data.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to boost manufacturing efficiency.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior programmers and operators.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering or manufacturing

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a CNC machine programmer

Technical Skills

• G-code programming
• CNC machine operation
• CAD/CAM Software

Advantageous

• Experience in the aerospace or automotive industry: Knowledge of industry-specific standards and processes.
• Familiarity with reverse engineering processes: Understanding of how to work with existing parts to create new programs.
