Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Building Inspector to join our construction team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying compliance with building codes, ensuring safety regulations are met, and conducting inspections on both residential and commercial properties. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining high standards in construction and helping to ensure the safety of the community.

Responsibilities

• Inspect structures during various phases of construction for code compliance.
• Communicate findings to contractors and project managers.
• Review and approve building permits and plans.
• Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and standards.
• Conduct follow-up inspections to verify corrections are made.
• Actively participate in training and professional development.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in building inspection or construction

• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng)

• Knowledge of local zoning laws: Understand local zoning laws and their impact on building projects.
