Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a talented Mechanical Engineer to contribute to our dynamic engineering team in Cape Town. You will be responsible for designing and improving mechanical products and systems, applying your knowledge to solve real-world challenges. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure all project specifications and objectives are met with precision and detail.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify design documents for mechanical components.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to streamline production.
• Conduct performance testing on mechanical products and systems.
• Identify areas for improvement within existing systems.
• Maintain project schedules and report progress to management.
• Drive innovation within design processes and engineering methods.
• Ensure that all engineering designs align with company strategies.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns in mechanical engineering best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a mechanical design role

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Prototyping

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Leadership

Certifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of regulatory standards: Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing mechanical engineering.
