As an IP Lawyer at our reputable law firm in Johannesburg, you will play a crucial role in providing guidance on intellectual property rights. Your responsibilities will include advising clients on patent, trademark, and copyright matters, managing dispute resolutions, and collaborating closely with other legal professionals.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients on patentability and trademark availability.
• Develop comprehensive IP strategies for clients' businesses.
• Support clients in IP due diligence processes during M&A transactions.
• Negotiate terms of settlement in IP disputes.
• Educate clients about the importance of IP protection.
• Monitor and report on potential IP infringements.
• Participate in conferences and seminars focused on intellectual property.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Facilitate discussions with external counsel when necessary.
• Assist in policy development related to IP matters.

Requirements

Education

• LLB degree from an accredited university
• Admitted to practice law in South Africa

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in intellectual property law
