Job Description

As an Insurance Underwriter at our Durban office, you will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risk, and determining coverage options. Your expertise will help ensure that our clients receive personalized insurance solutions that meet their specific needs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze client data and risk profiles to make underwriting decisions.
• Develop customized insurance policies based on individual client needs.
• Work closely with claims and risk management teams for policy assessments.
• Review and update existing policies to ensure compliance and relevance.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance underwriting skills.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients throughout the underwriting process.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in insurance underwriting

Technical Skills

• Market Analysis
• Insurance Legislation Knowledge

Certifications

• Fellow of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (FIISA)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with underwriting software tools: Experience using tools such as Guidewire or similar for underwriting processes.
• Knowledge of advanced statistical analysis techniques: Understanding of statistical methods to enhance risk evaluation.
