Job Description

As a Continuous Mining Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in our mining operations. Your tasks will include operating mining machines, assisting with technical tasks, conducting equipment inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain various types of mining machinery.
• Ensure all safety regulations and policies are adhered to.
• Assist in the planning and execution of mining operations.
• Monitor and record operational data, including production metrics.
• Liaise with the Mine Operations Manager regarding any issues.
• Assist in training new operators on safety and operating procedures.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate in Mining Operations or similar qualification

Experience

• 2 years of experience operating continuous mining machines

Technical Skills

• Expertise in operating continuous mining machinery
• Familiarity with mining operations software

Soft Skills

• Strong teamwork skills
• Strong attention to safety protocols

Certifications

• First Aid/CPR certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Proficiency in additional languages such as Afrikaans or Zulu: Being multilingual can be an added advantage in communication.
• Prior experience with Fleet Management Systems: Experience with tools for monitoring and managing mining equipment.
