Job Description

As a Hoist and Winch Operator at Metal Reclamation Ltd., you will be instrumental in the safe and efficient handling of scrap metal. Your role will involve operating heavy machinery, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maximizing profit through effective processing of materials.

Responsibilities

• Sort and separate different types of scrap metal for processing.
• Load and unload scrap metal using hoisting equipment.
• Inspect materials for defects and establish their value.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production targets.
• Participate in safety meetings and drills to promote a safe working environment.
• Record production data and keep accurate logs of materials handled.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Assist customers with unloading and weighing scrap metal.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not required.

Technical Skills

• Operating Heavy Machinery
• Safety Regulations Knowledge

Certifications

• Valid Driver's License
• Forklift Certification (advantageous)

Languages

• English: Fluent
