Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our Durban team. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a range of medical conditions in animals, performing surgeries, and educating pet owners about animal health and welfare.

Responsibilities

• Assess animal conditions and execute treatment plans effectively.
• Perform routine and emergency surgeries, ensuring animal welfare.
• Provide consultancy to pet owners on health and care.
• Lead the veterinary team in providing a supportive and efficient workplace.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of veterinary advancements.
• Conduct vaccinations and preventative health checks.
• Participate actively in clinic management and operations.
• Develop community programs for animal health awareness.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc)
• Additional qualifications in animal health are advantageous

Experience

• At least 4 years' experience in a mixed veterinary practice

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience in exotic animal medicine: Ability to treat exotic pets and understand their unique needs.
